The Design, Visualization, & Cognition (DVC) Lab is the research lab of Dr. Paul Parsons in the Polytechnic Institute at Purdue University. The DVC Lab conducts research in the area of human-computer interaction (HCI), with an emphasis on cognitive aspects of designing and using of visualization interfaces.

The DVC Lab collaborates with other researchers in the Polytechnic Institute, especially Dr. Colin Gray and the UXp2 labDr. Austin Toombs and the C-CI LabDr. Vetria Byrd and the Byrd Vis LabDr. Mihaela Vorvoreanu, and Prof. Nancy Rasche. We also collaborate with research groups internationally, including Dr. Kamran Sedig and the Insight Lab at the University of Western Ontario and Hai-Ning Liang’s lab at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University in Suzhou.

Research in the DVC Lab is funded by the National Science Foundation and Purdue University.
